The Amazing Iguazu Falls!

We had one spare day in Argentina before our flight home and we made the most of it by visiting the breathtaking Iguazu Falls!

Our adventure started with a 6:30am flight, followed by a quick 20-minute taxi ride from Cataratas del Iguazú airport, getting us to the falls at 9am not long after the park opened.

While it’s possible to see both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides in one day, I wasn’t feeling my best, so we opted for a more relaxed pace and explored just the Argentinian side.

Remembering my drenching with Nicola at Victoria Falls last year, Trish and I came well-prepared with a full change of clothes in dry bags and umbrellas. We did get a little wet, but it was no big deal and we dried off quickly in the warm breeze.

The small train used in the park was booked out with tour groups for an hour when we got there so we walked to the first station. It was still handy later to cut down a lot of the walking but we still ended up walking over 10km on the trails around the falls. Every step was worth it though for the stunning views! 🥾🌈

We were not expecting to see so many beautiful butterfly’s! Occasionally landing on us as we walked through park.

While we knew this is one of the biggest tourist destinations we were not prepared for just how many people would be jockeying for position at the Devils Throat. People 5-6 deep at the lookout fence all trying to take selfies with no one else in them!!!

I am glad we made the effort as Iguazu Falls was well worth the visit.

Well that is the end of this adventure, it is time to go home now ………….
