Our original route was from Bled toward Budapest in Hungary returning through Austria and a drive over the most scenic mountain roads in Austria. But as it was now getting colder and Austria was now so close we decided to head North into Austria first so we could drive the mountain passes while they were still open then head East toward Hungary.
Our route took us over the Korensko Sedlo mountain pass and up to the Slovenia Austrian boarder. There was a duty free shop here however the prices for beer were cheaper in the supermarkets (Note: Supermarket beer prices are about A$0.50c for a 500ml can. It is cheaper to drink beer here than anything else!!) Trish did check out some perfume however it was no cheaper than airport duty free. so with all our money still in our pockets we headed down hill into Austria.

It was a nice day for a drive not to much traffic. Steven had set ‘Avoid all motorways and tolls’ into the GPS and we had pleasant afternoon driving by farms and small villages on our way toward the Wurzen Pass. A high mountain pass of the Karawanken mountain range in the Southern Limestone Alps, at the border between Arnoldstein in the Austrian state of Carinthia and Kranjska Gora in Slovenia

We stopped for the night at Lindlerhof Camping. This was on a working farm and the cows were just heading into the shed as we arrived. Our evening walk this evening was around the farm and along the river.
