Camino Frances Day 8 – Los Arcos to Viana

Camino day 8. Kilometer 151.1k about 630k to go.

Had a good day today did the 18k to Viana and arrived at 10:30am! Rather than push on to Logrono checked in to a small room at the Albergue Izar and chilled out for the rest of the day.

Took some nice photos near sunset.

Well my phone charger blew up last night and took out the power points in the Albergue. So could not use the phone much today. But as they say the Camino provides.

Left my towel behind on day 2 by the end of the day was given a new micofiber towel by a fellow pilgrim. Needed a liquid antseptic for my toe again given freely to me by another pilgrim and this morning a spare phone charger appears left behind at the Albergue.

I have been walking in my “emergency” sandles and another 18k today in them today but they lack cusioning. Viana has a hiking shop so bought a new pair of teva hiking sandles with more cushioning. Test them out tomorrow 21k to Navarrette through Logrono. So much for all the money I spent on 6 pairs trail runners and hiking shoes before i came! I like Viana. A hilltop town with friendly people good food and atmosphere. This stop now puts me out of sync with the guidebook stages and hopefully will be a quieter Camino.
