The coastline near St Agnes

Our home St AgnesWell we were heading off to France on Tuesday. Unfortunately Trish had to see the doctor who required some tests and a return visit in a week. So we have taken a short 3 day trip to St Agnes Cornwall. Staying at the Caravan Club site here.
This is a picturesque site set on the side of beacon hill looking over the cliff tops to the ocean.

The Surf beach

Our walk today was a long one of around 5 hours.

Setting out from the Caravan Park South along the cliffs to a small surf beach nestled in a narrow cove between the cliffs.

Wheal Coates Tin Mine Ruins
Heading back North along the cliff top  to the ruins of Wheal Coates an old tin mine,

SANY0039Calling in to say hello to the volunteer watchman in the National Coast Watch Institution lookout,

Around Newdowns Head, avoiding the mine shafts we found some geocaches on the way.
We turned inland and into the small township of St Agnes.

Rather than head back along the road we took the footpath over the top of Beacon Hill and sat (and we really needed a rest!!)and admired the 360 degree views. Trish just loved all the flowers and heather although soon found out that heather is rather prickly when you sit on it.

and finally down between the fields back to the Hymermobile.
