A Morning in Ho Chi Minh City

Safe in Saigon
Bikes are everywhere
It’s a 15 min cab ride from the Ho Chi Minh airport at 1 am to the Saigon Mini Hotel No5. I was a bit worried about staying at a hotel with a number however it turned out to be quite comfortable with friendly staff and is centrally situated in the hustling tourist area of District 1. We Spent some time  researching a place to stay in Saigon and the reviews for this hotel were good on Tripadvisor.  We booked using  Agoda and also wrote a hotel review for them as well. Good value for around $35 per night!!
View from the hotel window
The day before Trish managed to short out the laptop power supply with her finger. It is a gift she has at times J. So where to get a replacement in Saigon???  The search for a new power supply was a great reason to check out the local area………..

Outside the hotel
Geocaching in Saigon
In Flight Catering

I just had enough battery power to search for computer parts in Saigon and as luck would have it the computer and electronics shopping area was less than 500mts away!! But there’s more the only geocache in Saigon was located between the hotel and the computer shops!! Looks like a Steven morning this morning.Found several computer shops after a short walk and none had a HP power supply but this is Vietnam after showing one shopkeeper the PS, a phone call and a minute later one of the millions of motorbikes pulls up and the right power supply is produced. Another minute to stick on the genuine warranty stickers paid the minimal cost of $20 and we are back on line!! Asian customer service if they can sell you something they will find it from somewhere!!

Now off to the airport to catch the Vietnam Airlines flight to Nha Trang
Hotel Review
We chose this hotel for an overnight stay while transiting through Saigon. We were pleased with the standard of the hotel its location in the city so we could go out and walk around. The room we had was standard room overlooking rooftops a little on the small side but clean and comfortable. Quiet room with quiet air-conditioning, good shower with good pressure and hot and cold water. Staff were very helpful and polite. There was some noise (talking) from the room above via the bathroom.
