Katherine to Darwin Hays Creek

Back to Darwin today. On crossing the Katherine bridge it was up to 13.5 metres and still rising. For this trip we decided to have a quick stop at Hays Creek and spend more time in Adelaide River and revisit the War Cemetery there.
Hays Creek is halfway between Katherine and Darwin where  most people just stop for a coffee and a break at the roadhouse. If you get the chance is a great place to explore for a couple of days in the dry season. But for us  just a quick stop today.

This is where the Chinese workers first discoverd gold when digging holes for the overland telegraph line.
