Red Ride for Domestic Violence

Red Ride for Domestic Violence

Trish and I travelled down from our new home in Moore Park Beach Queensland to Caboolture to meet up with some fellow Rotary Nomads to get together and help the Rotary Club of Caboolture with the Red Ride for Domestic Violence event.

We were assigned to assisting with marshalling the bikes, setting up and running the inflatable Bar for the day.

Rotary Club of Caboolture and Moreton Bay Council hold a Red Ride. This is a group motorcycle ride to raise awareness and money to help prevent Domestic Violence.

The day started at 7am by setting up the inflatable Bar and then positioning along the bike riding route to help Marshal the riders in the right direction. Also a great way to see all the bikes as they passed.

We manned the Bar from 10am until 3pm but there was plenty of time to check out the bikes, cars, food and relax listening to the live music.

All proceeds are donated to Domestic Violence Organizations.

The funds we help raise were donated to DV Phones DV Safe Phone collects, repurposes and gifts mobile phones to victims of domestic violence.
