Cascade de Tao New Caledonia

Cascade de Tao

Still travelling down the North East Coast. Completely different to the West Coast. Here the the palm fringed beaches here are framed by mountains, waterfalls and cascades. We spent some time at the Cascade de Tao which is probably the tallest in New Caledonia. It is difficult to find exact information. It is certainly the most impressive.

Mountains to the Sea lots of small rivers and bridges. Small stalls in front of little subsistence farms selling home grown vegies, fruit and sea shells. What a serine place to sit and have lunch.

We decided to leave the hiking track (2 km) into the base of the cascades and plunge pools for our next visit.
