Vadstena Castle

Vadstena is a motorhome freindly town with unrestricted parking in the very centreof town right next to the castle moat and lake. So this was our home for the night.

We took an evening walk around the town, the Castle and the nearby lake.
Vadstena is most famous for being the home of Vadstena Castle and Vadstena kloster. Vadstena Abbey is based on the revelations of St. Bridget of Sweden. The medieval town is about two and a half hours south of Stockholm and sits on the shores of Lake Vättern. The castle is surrounded by a moat,as all good castles should be.

The next morning went for a longer walk by the lake and found a Geocache at a lighthouse by the lake, lake Vattern is the second largest in Sweden and has harbours and lighthouses.
